How to download Instagram Reels with audio
Save Instagram Reels from public accounts as MP4 with the sound included, on any device.
Instagram lets you save Reels inside the app, but only to a list in Instagram. To keep a Reel as a real video file, with its sound, you need to download it from the link.
Copy the Reel's link
- In the app: tap the paper plane icon under the Reel, then Copy link. On some versions it's in the three-dot menu.
- On a computer: open the Reel and copy the address bar. It contains /reel/.
Download it
- Open the Instagram downloader.
- Paste the link.
- Keep Video and MP4.
- Press Download. The Reel saves with its audio in one file.
The sound comes with it
Some download methods save Instagram video and audio as separate pieces and hand you a silent clip. We put them together, so the MP4 plays with sound. Getting it into your camera roll
Android puts it in your gallery's Downloads album straight away. On iPhone, open Files, tap the video, tap Share, then Save Video. Full steps are in saving a video to iPhone Photos.
Only the audio
Switch to Audio to keep the track or voice-over as an MP3 or M4A.
Which Reels can't be downloaded
Reels from private accounts, close-friends stories, and live videos. We can only fetch what anyone could see without logging in. A failed attempt doesn't use a credit.
Reposting

Can I download a Reel on a computer?
Yes. Open the Reel at instagram.com, copy the address bar, paste it in, and the MP4 goes to your Downloads folder.
Do Reels download with the music?
Yes, whatever sound plays in the Reel is in the file. If you plan to repost, remember the song may be licensed, and other platforms can mute it.
What quality are Reels?
Usually up to 1080p, depending on what the creator uploaded and how Instagram processed it.
