Can I download videos in HD?
Yes. VidMagpie saves video at up to 1080p Full HD when the original was uploaded at that quality. If the source is lower, you get the best version it has.
Which formats can I choose?
Video comes as MP4 by default, or WebM, MOV and MKV. Audio comes as MP3 by default, or M4A, WAV, FLAC and Opus.
How do transcripts work?
Pick Transcript and VidMagpie gives you the words as a TXT file, or SRT and VTT if you need subtitles. It uses the video's own captions when they exist and runs speech-to-text when they don't.
Where does the file go on my phone or computer?
On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Files app under Downloads. On Android it lands in your Downloads folder, and on a PC or Mac it goes wherever your browser saves downloads, usually Downloads.
Is it free?
You get 3 free downloads when you create a free account. After that it's $2.50 for 20 downloads, or $5.99 a month for unlimited downloads with Pro.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes, cancel anytime from your account page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
Which sites does it work with?
YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Vimeo, Twitch clips, Pinterest, Dailymotion, SoundCloud, LinkedIn and more. If a video plays publicly without logging in, there's a good chance VidMagpie can save it.
Why didn't my link work?
The video may be private, deleted, age-restricted, blocked in some countries, or only visible after a login. Check that the link opens in a private browser window, then try again. Failed downloads never use a credit.
Do you keep my files?
No. Files are deleted 15 minutes after they're ready, so download yours straight away. Your account only remembers the link, title and format, and you can clear that any time.
Do I need to install anything?
No. VidMagpie works in any browser on a phone or computer, with no app or extension.
